Events

The Adventure Zone is your headquarters for fun for the entire family!

The Adventure Zone hosts various special events, including arts/crafts, outdoor movie nights, campfire/hayrides and more.

Daily, Monthly and Seasonal Activity & Leisure passes are available to maximize the fun and minimize your expenses!

Monthly and Seasonal passes are available for purchase Memorial Day-Labor Day at the Adventure Zone by eligible sponsors (Mil/DoD/Contractors). They are not valid for guests.
These passes are available for up to 6 eligible, immediate household family members.
An Activity Pass is valid for either the Adventure Zone or Aquatics access.
A Leisure Pass is valid for both the Adventure Zone and Aquatics access.
The Aquatics pass is reciprocal for use at both the NRC Riverside Pool and NAS Pax River’s outdoor pool.

Need sporting equipment? Gear Issue, located inside the Adventure Zone, has a wide range of equipment for daily use. Equipment options include: tennis equipment, golf clubs, basketballs/football/soccer balls/volleyballs, corn hole, horse shoes, and softball equipment, along with board games, billiard and ping pong equipment to loan out with the purchase of a Leisure or Activity Pass.

If you need equipment for an upcoming event, the Community Recreation team at the Adventure Zone can assist with a wide variety of equipment rental options:

Picnic Packs: Gear bag that provides all the equipment to enjoy a day of fun.
Camping Equipment: Lanterns/tents/cots/coolers
Moon Bounces: Small & Large Castles as well as a giant slide
Bicycles: adult & youth
Fire Wood

The Adventure Zone is open from May through October annually. However, the Mini Golf and Driving Range are available for use year-round.

Please stop by the Administration Office Monday – Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or the Lodging Office Weekends/Federal Holidays 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for equipment during the Adventure Zone's off season.

Leisure & Activity Passes

Leisure Passes

All in-season lodging reservations at NRC Solomons include Leisure Passes, which grant unlimited admission to recreational facilities and programs. Additional passes may also be purchased at the Lodging Office or Adventure Zone. Seasonal Leisure Passes go on sale beginning the first weekend in May during normal Adventure Zone operating hours. They’re the ideal way to spend the day!

Leisure Passes may be used for:

Miniature golf
Aquatics Complex
Beach
Fishing pier
Outdoor billiards & ping-pong
Basketball
Tennis
Most Adventure Zone programs
Individual sports equipment (may be checked out at the Adventure Zone)

Please note that Leisure Passes are not valid for boat, bike or facility rentals, or for rental equipment.

Activity Passes

Activity Passes are available for patrons who wish to use only one recreational facility. Activity Passes may be purchased for the Sunset Pier, Riverside Aquatics Complex and for most Adventure Zone programs.

Off-Season Fun

Although the beach and pool may be closed during the off-season, patrons are still welcome to check out sporting equipment or board games, play outdoor billiards or enjoy a game of miniature golf. For assistance, visit the Lodging Office (weekends) or the Administrative Office (weekdays).
